For this project, we took portraits of ourselves and recreated them in different styles. First I traced myself with pencil and shaded it to recreate the picture, then I outlined it in different styles like regular bolding(black), left-handed(blue) and pointillism(green).
In the Admiration Project we had to pick people that we looked up to and inspired us and I picked Tyler Posey because he is one of my favorite t.v. show characters, I love his personality, and I wanted to make something for my neighbor's birthday. I also attempted this in both pencil and black ink paint.
In the "Restaging the Masters" project, we were asked to recreate an art piece in which we chose a known artist, find one of their paintings, take a picture, and then paint the picture. I decided to restage Luke Chueh's "Bear in Mind" painting using myself and two teddy bears. The conceptual shift of the painting was definitely the fact I am not a bear inside however embodying it using a teddy bear instead. Compared to the original, I am looking straight forward but I am also human but hiding behind a teddy bear, which makes me think are humans really just like vicious bears? Or more like a gentle teddy bear?
